As continuously since 1963, the 2019 Dorchester Day Parade will be celebrated on the first Sunday of June (that’s 6/02/2019).
This family-friendly march, attended by hundreds of neighbors, local officials, and personalities, commemorates the founding of Dorchester in 1630, besides its annexation to the City of Boston. This year’s the 115th annual parade.
All are welcome, and it’s free. Groups will start marching at 1:00 p.m. in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street & Dorchester Avenue for 3.2 miles along Dorchester Avenue to Savin Hill at the intersection of Columbia Road.
This year Dorchester Day Parade Grand Marshall is John Schneiderman, president of Pope’s Hill Neighborhood Association.
