The Neponset River Watershed Association and the Department of Conservation and Recreation are inviting the neighborhood to participate in the Annual Park Serve Day, an opportunity to help conserve and maintain, through volunteering work along with the DCR and NRWA staff, the park facilities and its coastlines and trails.

Taking part of the activities simply entails registering through the NRWA website form available here, filling the required contact information and selecting the park site you’d like to work, as well as the amount of people that will be participating in the volunteering effort. Since its beginnings in 2006, Park Serve Day has had tens of thousands Massachusetts residents helping maintain the parks in optimal states before the beginning of the Summer Season.

The cleaning effort will take place this Saturday, April 27th 2019, from 9AM to 4PM. The sites near the Dorchester area that will be considered for cleanup are:

  • Lower Mills, Dorchester
  • Tenean Beach, Dorchester
  • Doyle Playground, Hyde Park
  • Truman Parkway, Hyde Park
  • Edgewater Drive, Mattapan
  • Riverside Ave., Milton
  • Billings Creek, Quincy
  • Neponset Landing, Quincy
