Photo courtesy of Jonathan Hall (Twitter: @JHall7news)The Boston Police department is on the chase of an individual (or individuals) who vandalized a Virgin Mary image at the Saint Gregory Church in Dorchester (2223 Dorchester Avenue).
The Police Department is actively reviewing the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, reported about 7:20 PM on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, and that might relate with similar incidents affecting Latin Catholic Churches in Boston.
According to a statement from the Department, the victim who reported the incident at Saint Gregory’s stated that an unknown individual had defaced the religious statue on the church’s property, covering it with a red substance. This is the fourth time in which the statue had been vandalized in the past month, the victim also stated.
On March 11th and 13th, the Police responded to similar incidents affecting religious statues at Hyde Park’s Latin Catholic’s Most Precious Blood Church and Saint Anne’s Church.
