With opening remarks by -also local- Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, Councilor Essaibi got into the “Hall of Fame” alongside Dr. Jim O’Connell, the president of Boston Healthcare for the Homeless.
According to Dorchester Catholic, the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry is a “ministry of faith and love” staffed by volunteers and based at Saint Margaret Church of Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Dorchester with the mission to provide nutritious groceries to individuals and families facing economic hardship in the neighborhood. The event is co-chaired by the president of the New England Council and former State Representative James T. Brett, and Larry Ronan, a Savin Hill doctor.
The Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry Dorchester “Hall of Fame” includes Massachusetts personalities such as Boston Fire Commissioner Joseph Finn, Sister Barbara Gorham, Governor Charlie Baker, former Massachusetts Senate President Therese Murray, and Fr. Jack Ahern.
