Latin Catholic Archbishop of Boston and Cardinal, Seán O’Malley, offered support to the Boston Muslim community in light of the terrorist attacks in the city of Christchurch, in New Zealand, where 50 people were killed inside two Mosques.
“We lift up our hearts in earnest prayer to God on behalf of those who perished in this massacre and those who have been wounded in body or in spirit,” Cardinal Seán said in a public statement.
The leader of the State largest Christian denomination remarked to “our Muslim friends in Boston and throughout Massachusetts, in this dark hour know that you are not alone, we join together with many others in the religious and civic communities who embrace you in concern and support.”
The Christchurch mosque shootings were two consecutive terrorist mass shootings at Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Center in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday Prayer on 15 March 2019. The attacks killed 50 people and injured another 50.
