Celebrate Dorchester’s 13th St. Patrick’s Day Brunch for a good cause

Next weekend, Dorchester will be hosting again its traditional St. Patrick’s Day Brunch, bringing together politicians and personalities from all across the state in order to support the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry, of Saint Theresa of Calcutta. The event, hosted by the Brett family, arrives to its 13th edition this year, acting as a fundraiser and as an induction ceremony into the Dorchester’s Hall of Fame, in which Boston City Councilor Annissa Essaibi-George will be included along with Dr. Jim O’Connell.

Last year’s Brunch raised over $100,000 in donations for the Food Pantry, going towards helping individuals and families facing hardships and homelessness in the neighborhood. Four personalities from Dorchester were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018: Fire Commissioner Joe Finn, Sister Barbara Gorham, Bob Marr and Governor Charlie Baker. This year, Baker will accompany Mayor Marty Walsh as special guests.

The St. Patrick’s Day Brunch will take place this Saturday, March 16th 2019 from 9:30AM to 12:30PM, at the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish Hall, in St. Margaret Church (800 Columbia Road, Dorchester MA 02125), and will be hosted by Pauline Wells.
