Sandeep Das (center) performing with Syrian oud player Kenan Adnawi (right) and Indian sitar performer Rajib Karmarkar (left), as the HUM Ensemble.Ashmont Hill Chamber Music is hosting next weekend the tabla virtuoso and Grammy Award winner Sandeep Das and the HUM Ensemble, together in their latest joint project. Das, Grammy Award winner and member of the Silk Road Ensemble —also a Massachusetts resident—, will be performing his tabla compositions alongside Syrian oud master Issam Rafea, Indian vocalist and sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan, and sitar player Rajib Karmakar, exploring centuries of Indian classical and traditional folk music.
The show will take place on Sunday, February 17th 2019 at the Peabody Hall of the Parish of All Saints (209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester MA 02124), from 4PM to 6PM. Tickets cost $18, available for purchase here.
