With a total participation of 20 restaurants, civic associations, youth groups and community organizations, the traditional Annual Dorchester Chili Cook-off returns this year in its 13th installment, in an afternoon full of good food, live entertainment and prizes. The traditional event will have judges awarding prizes for the competitors in the following categories:
- Best of Show
- Best Non-Beef
- Most Creative Dish
- Team Spirit
Aside from the critics’ choices, there’s also the People’s Choice Award, where assistants will be able to vote on the best chili of the neighborhood. The event will take place on Sunday, March 24th 2019 from 4PM to 7PM, at the Local 103 IBEW (256 Freeport Street, Dorchester MA 02122). Unless noted otherwise, ticket costs could be expected to be $20 for adults, $30 for families (up to 4) with $5 per extra children; and they will include all the chili and fixings you can eat, as well as a chance to vote for the People’s Choice.
According to the organizers, proceeds of the Cook-off will go towards the Dorchester Day Parade.
