The 30th annual Tết in Boston festival is around the corner to celebrate the Vietnamese new year.

The event will be held on Saturday, January 26th at Flynn Cruiseport (1 Black Falcon Avenue in South Boston) from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. At the festival, there will be traditional music, performances, a pageant show, photobooths, games, food stalls, to highlights Vietnamese cultural values and spark community engagement.

Tet In Boston is an annual Vietnamese New Year festival organized by Dorchester based Vietnamese-American Community of Massachusetts and the Intercollegiate Vietnamese Student Association that every year attracts over 5,000 attendees and over 80 vendors.

Tết, or Vietnamese New Year, is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture. The word is a shortened form of Tết Nguyên Đán, which is Sino-Vietnamese for “Feast of the First Morning of the First Day”. Tết celebrates the arrival of spring based on the Vietnamese calendar and this new year coming is the year of the pig.
