Quinn Community Service Award, an annual recognition from the University to a member of the community whose contributions have improved the quality of life significantly in the neighborhoods and communities that conform Boston. It’s named after the former Massachusetts attorney general who pushed legislation that helped with the foundation of the UMass Boston, who died in 2014. The recipients of this award are nominated by members of the community, and the awardees are chosen by a special committee.
The nominations for the award can be made online here, and those will be accepted until January 19th 2019. The winner will be selected and recognized at a special ceremony on Thursday, March 29th 2019 during the University’s annual breakfast. If you know of someone whose outstanding efforts in the community are worth highlighting and celebrating, you should consider nominating them for the award.
