Dorchester Vietnam Memorial.The leaders of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Comittee have set up a fundraising campaign to pay for the repairing costs of the Memorial in Morrissey Boulevard, after the vandalization that took place last Thursday, October 26th. According to the Memorial Committee President Joseph Zinck, approximately 20 bushes where shredded with a chainsaw and flower beds and bricks were torn and thrown at the face of the memorial.
“Someone was very angry (…) It took someone a while to do this. They had to go down there with intention. I feel bad for whoever did this. They must have some anger issues.”

The memorial monument honors the 80 Dorchester veterans who gave their lives in the Vietnam War, and has been maintained for over 30 years by the Committee. The GoFundMe campaign was posted a day after the incident —available here—, already collecting over $11K of the $25K as the final goal, thanks to the contributions of members of the community.
