(Credits: Boston Firefighters’ Memorial Race website)This weekend, the traditional Boston Firefighters 10K Memorial Race arrives to its 36th Edition. The event, which started as a way to memorialize the members of the Boston Fire Department and Local 718 who have gave their lives while in the line of duty, has also served as a way to raise money for local charities and funding scholarships, all the while providing with entertainment for the communities of Boston with this running event.

The 10K course of 6.2 miles consists of a scenic race route around Dorchester Bay, certified by the USATF. The runners will gather at the Florian Hall (55 Hallet Street, Dorchester MA 02124) this Sunday, October 21st 2018 at 9 AM; the participation of thousands of runners is expected as every other year. According to the organizers, there will be trophies and cash prizes for the winners, and musical entertainment by The Fenian Sons, who have performed on every Memorial Race since its beginnings in 1996.
Those who wish to register to participate before the race day, must do so here, by paying the entry fee of $40 —firefighters get a special prize of $30 upon registering—, while the registry fee on Sunday is $40.
