(Photo courtesy of Jessica Mink)The traditional, 17th Annual Pumpkin Float at the Neponset River is taking place in a couple of weeks. This special event, brought by the Neponset River Greenway Council and the Mass Department of Conservation & Recreation, is a gorgeous display of creativity from the Dorchester neighbors, where the whole family can see their carved pumpkins float among hundreds down Davenport Creek.
The date is on Tuesday, October 18th 2018 at the DCR Pope John Paul II Park (Hallet St., Dorchester MA 02124), starting at 5:30PM with the check-in at the Hallet Street entrance. Candles and floats will be provided, so bring your carved pumpkin and your costume, if you want. The pumpkins will be released at dusk.
