Hundreds gathered to celebrate historical outdoor community mass in Dorchester (+ photos)

The Dorchester community celebrated a historical outdoor community mass on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 at the Pope John Paul II Park Reservation.

The outdoor mass, organized by Saint Ann and Saint Brendan parishes with the support of the Knights of Columbus, congregated hundreds of people who exceeded the expectations to a point where there were no enough sacred bread to do the communion.

The homily was held by Father Robert Connors and Father Brian Clary.

After the celebration, kids and adults enjoyed a light supper of hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream.

Saint Ann Parish building is located at 243 Neponset Ave, Dorchester, MA 02122, and Saint Brendan Parish building is located at 15 Rita Rd, Dorchester Center, MA 02124. Both parishes created a collaborative with an office located at Saint Brendan building.
