The fourth edition of the Annual Dot Pot Championship already has a date and a location this year. The annual street hockey tournament, gathering 24 teams from all over Boston this year, brings together the community through good sportsmanship and supports worthy causes every year through donations and apparel sale.

The tournament will take place from Friday, July 20th 2018 to Sunday, July 22 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Garvey Park (340 Neponset Ave, Boston, MA 02122). Sponsorship and donations are being sought out: the organizers are asking those interested in sponsoring the event to donate $125 to help pay for shirts and costs, but any other donation will be appreciated and will be acknowledged on the back of all shirts. In the 2017 edition of the Dot Pot, 900 shirts were sold thanks to the help of Beantown Athletics and countless volunteers, and the organizers hope they can sell even more this year.

This year’s edition will be played in memory of Katie McDonough, who spent years fighting cancer and was cherished by her family, friends and neighborhood of Dorchester. The proceeds of this year’s tournament will be donated to her family, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition and the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. Those interested in donating should check the contact info on the press release below, where the details for the donations are outlined.
