Few months ago, The Dorchester Post released a video that shows alleged ICE agents knocking the door of a Dorchester resident. After that incident, we tried to get some statistics about arrests made by ICE in Dorchester, but the Boston Police didn’t facilitate us their information.
Anyway, is a fact that the ICE Police is active in Dorchester and deportation is happening.
On November 20th, 2017, a Vietnamese woman living in Dorchester was deported back to Vietnam, according to the Asian American Resource Workshop (AARW) organization. The AARW opened a crowdfunding campaign to support the Le-Sparks family, were they collected more than $3,000 dollars.
According to AARW, Nhan -the deported woman- “has lived in the U.S. since 2010, immigrating to the Boston area from Vietnam, and was most recently living in Dorchester with her family. On Monday, November 20th Nhan was deported back to Vietnam. She is the mother of three daughters, 11 year old, Gabriella, 9 year old, Evelyn, and 6 year old, Alison. Nhan is a loving mother, wife, and community member who has built a life in Boston over the past seven years.”
